If you’re swapping out your transmission, chances are you need a new transmission mount. Tranny mounts definitely need inspected closely. They can tear or rust if you have a steel and rubber mount. If you’re putting a lot of torque through your transmission, you’ll want a good mount.

Hurst is still the first name people think of when you ask about high performance shifters. The Hurst name has that kind of muscle behind it. Over the years, manual shifters with external shifter linkage were the norm. In more recent years, companies like Tremec engineered their TKO line and T56 line with internal linkage. Hurst has kept up with the new trend and offers shifters for many of the Tremec transmissions out there.

There are a lot of types and brands of exhaust headers out there. Trucks usually have a lot of room in the engine compartment to fit a lot of different kinds of headers. Newer trucks have more options for exact fit headers. You may have to go with a general use set of headers if you aren’t sure what fits. Swapping out a new transmission may require a new transmission mount. There are a number of options from transmission mounts that drop or add a driveshaft loop. Some trans mounts can be welded in while others are bolted. Find the right transmission mount and get that trans installed right!
