Many 4×4 trucks sit high enough that you need to pull yourself up into the cab. Dee Zee has been making step bars for a long time. They are easy to install and allow you to step into your truck. That’s a lot easier when your hands are full with the kids or tools. Dee Zee step bars are black powder coated for durability and to control the cost over similar stainless step bars. Dee Zee stainless steel step bars are also available if you want the long lasting durability and look of stainless steel.

When you think of headers, you might think of a simple series of pipes that condense exhaust from the cylinder heads to the header collector. They look simple, but choosing the right headers can make all the difference. And, bigger header pipes is not always the right way to go. You need to choose headers for your engine and application. Headers with big primaries for the situation will not build power, or they build power in the wrong place. Check out this page about Exhaust headers.

Any number of automotive jobs are easier when you have a mechanic seat. Body work on a fender or door, headlight and taillight work, buffing and any number of other tasks can all be done from the comfort of a seat. The handiest mechanic seats have a tray underneath to put tools along with rollers to move around the garage floor easily.

Traditionally, carburetors don’t do so well off-road when pitched at intense angles. Flooding, stalling and other problems can happen when traversing hills downward or moving along a slope. Holley built the Holley Truck Avenger Carburetors specifically for these conditions. Holley Truck Avenger Carbs are available in 470, 670 and 770 cfm sizes.

It’s not that you have to replace your flat tappet hydraulic lifters. It’s just a good idea. You see, flat tappet lifters are not totally flat where the cam acts on the lifter. The seemingly flat area is actually slightly domed. You can’t really see the dome, but it’s there. The shape allows the lifter to ride on the surface a little smoother. If your existing lifters are worn at all, you’ll get slightly different lift out of every lifter and cam lobe. When building a new engine, you should try for consistency in all things. All parts are toleranced the same. Plus, cam and lifter kits usually include the cam and lifters as well as other pieces to install the cam, depending on the kit. Since lifters are so cheap when you buy in kit form, it’s just a smart move.
